This is me

Ishmael Fischer Ahab is the nom de plume of a Licensed Engineer in the Philippines. He likes to write and read, procrastinate and daydream, and blog. Currently, he is working in a government agency and struggling to save as much money as he could. He believes that the country that he is in now is under a lot of unnecessary mess. At this moment, he believes that only a French Revolution style of upheaval will change the Philippines. That is, burn the whole country and a new and a better phoenix will rise up from its ashes.

He blogs his thoughts in his personal blog, Before the Eastern Sunset, and the socio-political blog, The Paradoxic Ley Line.

  1. Good morning Sir!

I’m Steph Ferrer, a 3rd year Communication student
from Ateneo de Manila, and I’m writing an article on
citizen journalists (specifically bloggers) for my
    feature writing class.

I passed by your blog and saw that you’re very
interested in news and current affairs, and write
about political issues in your blog. Because of this,
I would like to request for an interview with you on
this topic. I’m sorry I had to post it here, because I can’t find
your email address. But I really hope you can help me out. =) Here
    are the questions.

    1) What’s your blog all about? What do you usually
    write about?

    2) How and when did you start your blog?

    3) Why did you decide to write about news, political
    issues or social issues?

    4) How often do you update your blog?

    5) Where do you get the information you write about in
    your blog?

    6) Do you know around how many people visit your blog?

    7) In your opinion, is citizen journalism a good thing
or a bad thing (for the readers, for citizen
journalists, for journalism, for the country)? Why?

    8) Do you think there is a need for citizen
    journalists in our country?

    9) Do you think there will be more citizen journalists
    in the future?

Please write as freely as possible. You can also
cite examples or write about your own experience. Or
if there’s anything you want to add, please do.

I really, really hope you can help me out. I really
need interviews for my article and I think you’re just
    the person I need. =)

I hope you’ll be able to reply by March 19, 2008
(Wednesday) or as soon as you can. If it’s not
possible for you to answer the questions by then, just
please let me know when you’ll be able to send it. You
can email me anytime. I would really
appreciate your help. Any kind of help. =) Thank you
    very, very much!!

    Sincerely,
    Steph Ferrer

  2. Good day! I am Astrid Abesamis, Communication Arts graduating student from the University of Santo Tomas. Our thesis group would like to ask for your help by answering our survey about blogging.
