Last week’s event was unprecedented. In the wee hours of the morning, the so-called “honorable” members of Congress sneaked an unacceptable resolution into passage. The resolution, passed without minding the Senate, convenes the Lower House into a constituent assembly that will be responsible in amending the Philippine constitution.

President Macapagal-Arroyo once again meddled withlocal politicsas the Malacanang Palace stepped in to rescue the beleguered Mayor of Montalban, Rizal.
This in light of the most recent suspension against the mayor. This town’s mayor, Pedro Cuerpo, holed himself up inside the municipal hjall while the vice mayor, Jonas Cruz, took over the mayoral post.

Catholic bishops called on the people to change the present government, specifically the president. They also announced some names that may replace GMA.
